|Description:||This is an exceedingly dim area of hydrogen gas that was discovered in 1864. The brighter central area is known as NGC 6820 (or Sh2-86). It surrounds an open cluster known as NGC 6823. A full-sized crop of the central area shows the 'elephant trunk' structures pointing toward the open cluster.|
