Description: Pictured is a small part of an extended emission nebula near the star Sadr (Gamma Cygni), which is off screen to the lower right from this image. This part of the nebula is known as The Butterfly Nebula. A dark, obscuring dust lane runs diagonally in this image. An older image on this website shows a wider field of view of this nebula.

Notes: This is a 'first light' exposure for some new equipment and, as expected, there were some birthing pains, i.e. less than ideal focusing and guiding, but nothing major.
